# Bioreactor

Bioreactor are buildings that process raw or refined products into biologically-grown food ingredients and organic chemicals. Like Refineries, they take one or more products as inputs, but they only ever produce a single output food or chemical product, which again depends on the Bioreactor process selected. Unlike the other production chain buildings, Bioreactor processes run in batches, and so the time to complete a process increases in stepwise fashion as the amount of output exceeds the amount a certain number of batches can produce, and a new batch must be added. Prospective farmers would be wise to learn how much a single batch can produce, and to be careful to avoid just barely triggering an additional batch and wasting time, by requesting just a little too much output.
